6 Tips and Secrets Every Woman with Thick Hair Should Know

Date:

With the popularity of today’s fashion, we all want a mane that is cute, sweet, healthy, and looks beautiful. Unfortunately, thick hair never seems to be able to stay tame, always unkempt when combed, or too easily knotted. Getting a hair full of healthy shine sounds like a very expensive salon trip. There are many foolproof ways to make your hair naturally beautiful without further harming your hair with chemicals. These practical tips are a must, and they will save you money.

1. Keep It Moist

If your hair is thick and dry, you know the dilemma you face due to frizz and fluffiness. To reduce frizz, you need to keep your scalp moist to lock in all the oils that are essential for its health. Use a hair mask made with coconut oil and honey every week, perfect for soothing the scalp and leaving hair shiny.

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with 1 tablespoon of honey.
  • Apply to wet hair and leave overnight.
  • Rinse with warm water.

I highly recommend this 100% virgin coconut oil. I bought it for cooking, moisturizing, hair care. It is of very good quality and comes in the Club Value Set. Coconut oil is not cheap, and the value of this product is very high and can last a long time.

2.Oil It

Coconut oil isn’t the only way. Many women with supple and thick hair also use olive oil and argan oil to oil their hair. When wet, apply about a handful to the roots and use it as a conditioner. Alternatively, you can apply it to dry hair on your scalp and rub it along the ends. After leaving overnight, rinse hair with warm water and soften hair with conditioner. The oil should be applied once a week for optimal silky results.

3. Braided Your Hair While You Sleep

Wondering why your morning hair looks like it’s been hit by a tornado? When you sleep with your hair open, your hair rubs against the pillow, causing tangles at the ends and generating a lot of static electricity. It’s really hard to try to calm your hair in the morning, and honestly, who has the time? Instead, try braiding your hair in French or plain braids at night to reduce frizz. Plus, when you open it in the morning, you’ll get a bonus wave!

4. Find the Right Hairstyle

No matter how much you want to, don’t usually put your hair down. It adds frizz, makes your neck hot, and doesn’t look as pretty as you want. Accept the fact that your hair is thick and try to find some hairstyles that suit it. Thick hair is braided (such as French and Dutch braids), buns and buns, and looks very smooth.

5. Choose the Right Brush

Have you ever heard of combing your hair 100 times a day? You may have noticed that when you comb your hair, it gets tangled, fluffy, and a lot of it falls out. Trust me, buying brushes from Dollarama or Walmart is not the right choice. These metal bristles can damage your hair and make it tangled. Instead, use a paddle brush or bristle brush made of bamboo because of the large spacing between the bristles.

I use the Body Shop’s big paddle bamboo brush. Honestly, I wish I had found this brush sooner. My head would ache from the hard bristles of a lot of brushes, and this one could easily slide through my hair. It is perfect for any thick medium to long hair. The handle is sturdy and the quality of the brushes is good. Removing hair with a comb and washing it after each use can make it last a long time because these brushes are very stable.

6. Brush the Head in the Right Way

Now that you have a quality brush that won’t damage your hair, keep these tips in mind when brushing your head.

  • Do not comb hair when wet. Since the hair is softer when wet, it can further damage the hair.
  • If you apply oil before bathing, it will be easier to comb your hair. Take a wide-toothed comb and start combing the tangles at both ends first. Then divide the hair into strands and comb it from bottom to top. Comb a few long times and straighten your hair!

Remember, it’s your hair!

These tips are a great way to manage thick hair and make it soft and silky. However, remember that this is your hair and you should do what you think is best for it. So, the next time you’re combing your hair with a comb, why not stop and try these tips.
