Honey and Oatmeal Facial Scrub for Perfect Skin

Date:

Exfoliating the skin is very important. Not only does it help to remove old dead skin cells, but it also promotes blood flow and circulation to the skin when massaged. Exfoliation also relaxes those stubborn blackheads, making them easier to remove. It is best to use an exfoliating scrub two to three times a week. This will help with cell renewal, prevent wrinkles and premature aging, and is a great way to get a deep pore cleansing feel.

I have been plagued by acne for the past 10 years. These breakthroughs can become so serious that it almost humiliates to go to school or in public for fear of being judged. Finally, after spending countless dollars on facial cleansers and scrubs to control acne, I started experimenting with DIY beauty products. After a few years, I finally created a scrub that I’m proud to say helps keep my sensitive, acne-prone skin clean, clear and healthy.

All Natural DIY Scrub

All the products I use to make this scrub are organic/raw/natural. Due to the variety of essential oils, some ingredients are a little more expensive than usual. However, it’s totally worth it because in the long run it’s more economical to make a product specifically for you that you know will work than to spend countless dollars on store-bought cleaners that don’t work or have side effects.

This scrub can last a long time, used two to three times a week, and can do wonders for the skin. It’s also a great addition to a DIY 15-minute shower facial. Now that I’ve effectively talked about exfoliation and the amazing formula I’m going to share with you of the beauties, let’s move on to how to make this skin-protecting facial scrub!

Facial scrub formula

Before we begin, let’s gather all the ingredients and tools you need to cover up this quick and simple scrub. Let’s start with the tools!

The tools you need

  • Measuring spoon
  • Cleaning brush (optional)
  • measuring cup
  • Empty containers for storage (glass bottles, etc.)
  • Stir the bar
  • Stir the bowl
  • Clean workstation

The ingredients you need

  • 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup raw sugar
  • 3 tablespoons organic raw honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
  • 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon rosehip oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon lemon oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon lavender oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon tea tree oil

Step 1: Collect and prepare dry ingredients

  • Continue to measure out the oats, green tea, and sugar.
  • In a food processor, coffee grinder, or whatever you own, chop the oats.
  • Once you’ve chopped them, you can mix the sugar, green tea, and oats together.
  • Now that you’ve mixed it all together, it should look exactly as it is: oats and sugar mixed together in a green color.
  • Set the mixture aside and prepare the essential oil and honey.

Step 2: Prepare wet ingredients

Now that we have prepared the dry raw materials, it is time to remove the oil and honey and measure them.

  • Measure out all the oils listed above in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly. One of the reasons I like to measure out the oil before honey is because it makes it easier for honey to slip off the measuring spoon.
  • Once the oil is mixed, add the honey and mix it well together.

Step 3: Mix wet and dry ingredients

Okay, now we have all the ingredients ready and ready to mix.

  • At this point, I usually stir the dry ingredients while pouring in the honey and oil.
  • Make sure to mix them together well so that all dry ingredients are well coated with a mixture of honey and oil.
  • Once you’ve mixed it and completely coated with all the dry ingredients, you’ve successfully made a honey and oat sugar scrub!

How to Use Scrubs

Now that you’ve made your own sugar honey and oat scrub and know how to store it, let’s talk about how I like to use my homemade scrub.

  • I use a mild exfoliator, such as a sugar scrub, two to three times a week.
  • I usually use it twice a week after a good facial cleansing with one of my DIY essential oil cleansers and for a spa-quality facial.
  • This helps keep my skin bright and free of dead skin cells, but gently rubbing the scrub in circular motions with your fingertips increases blood flow and collagen production.
  • Thanks to the action of essential oils, it moisturizes and helps the skin retain moisture.
  • These oils also help prevent and treat acne, acne scars, sun damage, premature aging, signs of aging, rosacea, and many other skin conditions that make us feel uncomfortable.

I hope you all find this scrub as helpful as I am to my various skin conditions.

Store Your Sugar Scrub

You can choose any type of container to store the scrub. I tend to use small glass bottles or travel bottles. Both can be found in grocery stores. You don’t need to store it in the refrigerator between uses.

Use Ingredients

I would like to tell you more about what each ingredient does for the skin and how it can help. I chose each of these ingredients to help with my specific skin concerns (acne, acne scars, uneven skin tone, etc.); However, feel free to adjust the formula according to your skin disease! If you do, please comment on the product you use, your skin condition, and how well it works for you!
